I’m really looking forward to the  Together for Adoption (T4A) Conference, Friday and Saturday, October 21-22, in Phoenix. They’ve asked me to be one of the official bloggers, and I think I’ll be leading a breakout session. I’ll also be on a panel during the pre-conference afternoon for adoptive and pre-adoptive mothers, Thursday, October 20 (page down on the main conference web page to read about it.

Besides the great programming and exhibits, I expect the conference to be a valuable time for me to connect with other adoptive parents in ways that will be encouraging and upbuilding and educational for me and my family.

Conference organizers are offering 4 registrations to you, my blog readers. Here’s what you need to do to be eligible. Fulfill the following requirements, and then comment at this post to report that you have done so. Deadline is 11:59 pm this coming Tuesday, September 20.

  1. Visit the T4A Conference website and see what’s happening.
  2. Tell at least one other person about the conference. You choose how to do it: face-to-face, Facebook, Twitter, email, phone, text . . . .
  3. Make this decision: If you win, will you come with your spouse?
  4. (Optional) “Like” T4A on Facebook; Subscribe to the T4A blog.

Two of the registrations will be given to a husband and wife to attend together. Two will be given to individuals.

  1. I would love to go with my husband! I’ve tweeted so far, but will be talking about this ad nauseum on FB and to my friends from now til October ;-)

  2. I’ve shared the conference with others, and I’ve been to the website and facebook page. Looking forward to the event!

  3. We have been hoping for the Lord’s provision that we might be able to go to this conference. We have told many people about it and also asked them to be praying for a way for us (and them!) to go. My husband and I would be so blessed by this. We are in the process of adopting a son who will not look like the rest of our family and we so deeply want to hear from other families who have walked through this great example of the gospel.

  4. my husband and i are foster parents (hoping to adopt!) and expecting our first biological child soon. we would love to go!

  5. My husband and I would love to come. We have been licensed as foster/adoptive parents for about a year and are working our way out of student loan debt so that we can have more freedom to add more children to our home (why we didn’t buy tickets :(). We have talked to other friends about the conference and our desire to go.

  6. I am commenting on behalf of my daughter and her husband, who are adopting their 4th child (2 from Korea, 1 from Ethiopia, and this one is from Haiti). I know they’d love to come.

It’s great that you will be there!

  7. Hi, Noel! I’ve done everything on the list :) My husband and I are in the early stages of adopting our first child from Ethiopia. We’d LOVE to connect with adoption experts and other adoptive families! Choose us, choose us :)

  8. My husband and I have been following T4A for a while and have dreamed about this chance to learn and grow as we work towards adoption. We’ve talk with several friends about the conference and would love the chance to attend. Hope we win!!

  9. I have fulfilled all of the requirements.’My husband and I will attend together if we win the tickets.

  10. I have fulfilled all the requirements, and wrote about the conference on my blog http://nowbeloved.blogspot.com/2011/08/conference-to-consider.html plus tweeted. I would love to go! I work as an intern helping build an adoption/foster care ministry at my church, so the free registration would be an amazing gift. I would be coming just as an individual.

    Thanks Noel!

  11. I would love to go with my husband. I’ve completed the requirements.

  12. Did all four.

Would love to go with my husband.

  13. I have done so :)

  14. I completed all of the requirements and am so excited! I would absolutely love to go the conference! Me and my husband got married a month ago and are young and poor so we were not going to be able to make it out to the conference :) We are both involved in starting a non-profit orphan care ministry in Birmingham and we would love to be able to go and gain more knowledge to help us with a conference we are having in March.

    Thank you Noel!

  15. My husband and I would feel so blessed to be able to attend the conference. We have adopted two children, one domestic and one international. We have hosted international exchange students for eight years now which is, to a degree, like adoption because they have become like our children. If you are looking for someone who can related how wonderful the adoption experience is and what a blessing and a ministry it is, we could do you a good job!!

  16. My husband and I are in the process of adopting from foster care and also part of the leadership team of our church’s new least of these ministry. I have been praying about attending this conference since I listened to some of last year’s sessions. We would both like to attend.

  17. Sadly I won’t be able to attend… I am expecting a child in November and it will be too late for me to fly… but I wish I could have been there!!! Maybe next year??? Thank you so much for this opportunity – it would be a great blessing for those chosen

  19. We have completed everything on the list. My husband and I would be blessed and honored if we could attend the conference. We have adopted two children, one at age two (chosen by the birth mother) and one at birth through a private agency. We are currently approved to adopt again but are wanting to adopt an older child as our son is now 12. We have 4 grow children and 12 grandchildren (of which 4 are adopted). Adopting an older child seems to be a much slower process, much slower than adopting an infant. We have shared our experiences with many people and have help many start the adopting process.we have also help our children through the adoption process and several in our church are now in the process. We hopefully have been a help to them as well. We also did foster care for 20 years. We would love to attend the conference and gain knowledge from those that have adopted older children. My God be glorified in all the adoptions!!!

  20. Did all four and would love to go with my hubby!:)

  21. I have posted a link on my FB account. I would definitely bring my husband! I have checked out the web site, and it just makes me hunger for more. It would be wonderful if you offered the conference via the web, so that those who are unable to travel could participate from the comforts of their home-maybe at a reduced cost?

  22. Did ‘em all! Thanks so much for the opportunity :)

    • P.S. My husband and I hoped to attend this, but decided we need to knuckle down in order to save for our next adoption. We just completed an adoption of a baby girl from Ethiopia 9 mos ago.

  23. I have completed the requirements (actually I had completed them a while back :) ) My husband and I would LOVE to attend. We have 3 children, 1 from Kazakhstan and 2 from Ethiopia, and are currently planning a church plant. Our passion is orphan ministry and can’t wait to get started on the next step. Thank you for all you do for the fatherless in this world.

  24. My husband and I would love to come to the conference. We have been trying for a while to have a baby. We’ve been praying about adopting and would love all the wisdom we could get at the conference.
I did the requirements and would for sure bring my husband!
    Thank you!

  25. My husband and I have looked at the conference page numerous times now trying to figure out how we could make this work! We are both active in our community promoting adoption and are on staff part time at our church as directors of children and family ministries and promote adoption through that avenue as well. We would love to attend! Thanks for blessing people with these gifts!

  26. Thanks to all that are making this giveaway possible! I have followed all the instructions and would love to be able to attend this conference for free!

  27. hi there,
I’ve done all 4 things. my husband & I would love to go to T4A!!! we are in the process of adopting from Uganda & we are # 2 on the list! we believe the Lord is leading our family to be more involved in orphan care, but we’re not sure what that’s going to look like yet. thank you so much!
    Allison

  28. We have included all the requirements and both hubby and I would attend.

  31. I would love to win!! I have been eying this conference and my husband and I would really like to win. We just brought our Ethiopian son home in august, so it would be awesome to connect with other adoptive families and learn from the word!

  32. I would LOVE to be able to go with my husband. We’ve been praying for provision in this area. This would be a huge blessing. I’ve been to the site many times, liked the FB page, and shared with several people via facebook and in person. :)

  33. Would love to go with my husband. We will be adopting a baby girl, due Oct 9th.

  34. I would love to be able to win the tickets to attend this two day conference with my husband. :) We are in the beggining stages of the adoption process and we think this would be very helpful for us to attend. Thank you, Best of luck to all, Carrie

  35. PS I have completed all four requirements. Thank you Carrie Tanner

  36. Done. :) Would love to win registration for my hubby and I!

  37. My husband and I would love love to come! We are in the process of adopting now through Bethany!

  38. My wife and I would love an opportunity to come, and would not be able to afford it otherwise. We got married a little under a year ago and just began the process of becoming certified foster/adoptive parents last week. Adoption is something we feel very strongly about given the lengths our heavenly Father has gone to adopt us. We will certainly be letting everyone know about this conference :)

  39. Did all the 4 requirments.
If I win i would like to surprise our daughter and her husband with this conference. They have 5 young children, 2 adopted from Ethiopia.
I would love to babysit for them to get this NEEDED break to be refreshed and rechallenged in their high calling of adoption.
    THANKS for your vision,
    gale peck the (GRANDmom)

  40. I would love to win! If I win I would come with my husband and some adoption advocates from our new church plant!

  41. I am an adoptive mother and family practice physician that works with orphan care organizations in China. I am starting soon as the Medical Director for a local adoption advocacy non-profit organization. I would love to attend and would be attending alone. I have completed the requirements as well.

  42. Catherine Coralejo

We’ve been praying for a person/an agency that we can get in touch with about adoption. we have been blessed with a 13 year old son & wanted to have another child but we haven’t received the answer we’ve been longing for. because we are Filipinos, we wanted to adopt a Filipino girl. can you help us or maybe recommend who we can contact? having read/watched/heard of the horrible things that fake agencies do to other families wanting to adopt, it’s hard to just trust anybody who claims they can help us with this. i appreciate the time you’ve taken to read my message. thanks & God bless.

  43. My husband and I are just starting the process of adoption and would love the opportunity to attend the conference together but just cant afford the cost. :( thanks for doing this! So excited to see who wins. :)

  44. My husband and I have 5 biological children and have recently been stirred to think about the opportunity to make more “disciples” for Christ through adoption. I think hearing about this privilege at T4A would be a fantastic opportunity for us to see if the Lord is truly leading us down this path. We would, of course, be thrilled to attend together!

  45. Done. One ticket would make me deliriously happy.

  46. I am a Missionary Kid from Kenya. I am heavily involved in orphan care with Missions of Hope International. I wish my husband could come with me, but someone has to stay home with our kids. I would be attending alone. Thank you for considering me.

  47. 1) Done!

    2) Done via Facebook!

    3) God-willing, if I do get these tickets, I will definitely be taking my wife with me.

    4) Done and done!

  48. 1. Done!

    2. Done via Facebook!

    3. God-willing, if I do win these tickets, I will definitely take my lovely wife to the conference!

    4. Done and done!

  50. 1) Done
    2) Passed on to “Least of These” orphan ministry at church
    3) Love to take my hubby
    4) Already “liked” it

Thank you over and over for your transparency and God-centered life.

  51. My husband and I would love to have the opportunity to attend this conference. We have had the privilege of witnessing the adoption story of our close friends, and while we have felt confident that adoption would be in our future, we have just made the decision to begin pursuing it.

  52. Hello! I completed the four tasks required to be considered (except, I’m not married, so seeking individual ticket). Thanks for the opportunity. Furthermore, I share a deep passion for orphan care and adoption, and I truly believe this cause for action is indeed God’s heart. I believe strongly in James 1:27, Isaiah 1:17 and Romans 8:15. This year, I found about Together for Adoption ministry and I love the ministry’s commitment and would love to attend the conference. As a recent graduate with limited funds, I’m seeking and praying that things will work out for me to attend. I know that God is able, so once again, thanks for the consideration. Orphan care and adoption has been tugging at my heart, since my teenage years, and now as an adult, the calling for more action and sharing of God’s heart for orphans and the gift of adoption pushes me forward to speak up and be His hands and feet, forever. I would consider it a privilege and a true blessing if selected to attend through this means. I believe God will confirm how He wants to use me in this area of ministry, which will be so beneficial for my present and future. Thanks so much for the opportunity to apply. God bless you!!! :)

  53. My Wife and I would love to go! We want to be awesome parents and would love to be around other kindred spirits. Facebooking now. :)

  54. Hi Mrs. Piper, My husband and I are learning how adopting a child is a reflection of God’s adoption of us. We’re just beginning to take the first blind shaky uncertain step of faith in the process. This conference would better equip us in knowledge, in support, and encouragement. Thank you ma’am for your consideration.

  55. I would so enjoy the opportunity to bring my bride to the conference! We are newly married and I can’t think of a better way to take a trip with my wife.

Thanks so much for all you do and I would love to meet you there.

  56. My husband and I would LOVE to attend T4A!!
We have discussed the high probability of adopting child(ren) into our family for the Gospel’s sake since we began talking about marriage 6 years ago :) We have never been able to go to the conference in the past since all of our family lives out of state, and we usually have to save our travel money for yearly trips to see them. Now would be a perfect time for us to attend the conference since our first son was born 14 months ago and we’re ready to begin thinking more practically about adoption.
Thank you for the opportunity to be considered as attendees!

  57. My husband and I would love to go!! I’ve completed the checklist :) Now I’m praying I win!

  58. My husband and I would LOVE to go to this event. We are missionaries to Honduras, and are helping with Honduran adoptions. This would be a great learning experience for us, and would be honored to go! I have shared this conference with all my friends, and am following the blog T4A. Thanks for the opportunity you are giving 4 people. I know it will be life changing.

  59. Thankful you are offering this contest… Win or not, I’m just thankful for an opportunity to possibly be able to go. My Wife and I are currently going through the process of adoption, and have been soaking up all that God has had to show us about the Doctrine of Adoption, and awakening the church to their scriptural obligation to care for the Orphans, one way or another! Thank you for this contest!

  60. Thank you!
All requirements are complete…I would love to bring my wife.
Thanks for live blogging the event.

  61. Done with my assignment and am hoping to be able to go! :) We are adopting from Rwanda and would love to go to this conference. Have been eyeing it!!

  67. Oh would so love to go to this conference!! Winning this will help pay for the childcare we’d need to go! Hubby & I would go together and I already know who we’d invite to go with us. Current foster/adopting parents that would be so blessed to attend! I spread the word on twitter and liked the facebook page on twitter. Thanks for hosting this contest and Lord willing winning or not, we’ll see everyone there!

  68. I would like to register for my friend Jodi Miller. She is a wonderful 30 something single Christian woman. She is a teacher and is currently in the middle of the adoption process in the waiting phase. She lost both her parents in a car accident a few years ago and has been a wonderful reflection of God’s grace and truth. I would be delighted if she won this trip and could share the experience of the conference….I can’t think of a more deserving person than Jodi. God Bless.

  69. Thanks for giving us this opportunity, Noel! I’ll look forward to reading your blog!

  70. Definitely would take my husband! We are in the process of adopting and would love to go!!
