Two little peas in a pod

Talitha with twinsHave I mentioned that we’ve been blessed with grandtwins? And that they live only about a 10-minute walk from our house?

Now that they’re scooting and rolling, I can’t put them to nap on my bed anymore. But my good old thrift-shop portable crib is looking about half adequate.

What I’m thinking about is a couple of sleep tents called peapods, which will keep each baby in place for sleeping, but will be easy to stash away when they’re not here.

Their 2-year old brother still sleeps in his sometimes. It’s so much more convenient than schlepping a crib around. I really like it.

One of the pleasures of being grandmama: getting to play with the new baby stuff invented after my babies’ day.

  1. The peeped is amazing! My 2 1/2 year old will still sleep in his on vacation. Like you said, way better than schlepping a pack-n-play around.

  2. I’ve heard great things about those peapods – especially that it makes it easier for babies to sleep in unfamiliar environments because the tent is always familiar!

  3. This is it! I too am a grandma near her grandchildren (thank you Lord!). We have 2 babes under 16 months with only one pack and play for naps. I don’t need or want another one (pack & play that is! Grandchildren – bring them on!) Thank you for sharing what works for you!

What a great idea! Baby shower gifts for my sisters, and one for me once the next little one comes :D

Thanks for the heads up Noel!

  5. My husband and I live in Brooklyn and traveling on the subway with a pack-n-play can be difficult. We just bought my 8 month a peapod tent for Christmas and she loves it!

  6. We got a peapod because my husband does a fair amount of traveling for his job and we often go along. It’s so much easier to pack this convenient little tent rather than a pack ‘n play! I’ve also found that it’s great to take to the beach so that little ones can stay contained and play and sleep out of the sun’s direct rays. We’ll soon be getting another peapod so that both of our girls can have their own.
