Cut once, sewed once, dress done
I finally pushed through my silk-terror and cut out Talitha’s dress for the Father-Daughter Tea. And I worked with my procrastination perfectly, getting the fasteners sewed onto the jacket 45 minutes before Talitha needed the dress this morning.
At this moment, father and daughter are in a festive hall filled with glittering daughters and proud fathers.

Well done! She looks lovely.
Your daughter looks beautiful! Great job on the dress and jacket Noel.
Stunning! Absolutely stunning!! and the dress is too! ;-)
Yay! She looks so pretty. Great job!
Oh, Talitha looks lovely in this lovely dress made by her lovely Mom. Well done, Mom! It’s been so long since I sewed up a dress; I would have been terrified. If you do scrapbooking, be certain to add a scrap of silk to the page.
Oh wow! You did a great job! I am thankful for your blog and enjoy reading it.
Just in time to shine!
I think by sewing you “sowed” and reaped even more than silken treasure!
Beautiful dress, and it goes nicely with that tie I gave your husband some time back. Love to hear how the morning went.
Sure does. I noticed that right away. And I remember when you gave it to him. Thanks!
Precious! Well done, Noel! I am sure they had a wonderful time!
Oh my my my! Well done Noel! She looks BEAUTIFUL! That dress is gorgeous!
Talitha is gorgeous! When we came to Bethlehem she was only 3 years old. She is a striking young woman.
Beautiful dress, daughter, father-daughter love, and maternal devotion – a blessing to see and read.
Red is definitely her color. Way to go Mom – making great memories! Blessings to all the Pipers.
Stunning. Way to go and with time to spare:)
She is just beautiful!
Talitha looks beautiful. I pray that both her and her father had a wonderful time at the tea! So glad you were able to make this for her – She will treasure it for a very long time!
As someone who got to see the dress live and in person at the Tea, I can say that Talitha looked beautiful in her impeccably sewn dress! You’ve been blessed with a great talent, Noel!
What a beautiful father and daughter. I guess I should say handsome father. Was wondering if you could you either blog about the Father/Daughter Tea or send me an email about what is done at the tea etc. This is a great idea and would love to see it at our church.
Celebrating our risen Lord.
the dress is beautiful!
Thank you for your blog. You have been a great encouragement to me. My husband and I are moving to VA in about a month to help our son in his new church plant. They launched in September ’09 and already have about 60 people attending (104 at Easter, which was so exciting for them). We are in our 50s, and have been on staff at a church in OR for 8 years. Before that we lived in AK for 16 years, my husband was in the military, and we served in our church with AWANA, elder, and I taught Bible studies and mentored women. Now, in this season, when I thought about adoption, my health would not permit it. But God has called us to do this instead. I’m nervous, excited, humbled, all kinds of emotions at once. I am leaving behind 2 grandchildren who are dear to me, as my daughters and their husbands are in AK and OR. Your words, your honesty, and your passion for the gospel has been wonderful for my soul.
My daughter Caitlin commented how beauitful Talitha looked at the tea yesterday. Well done!
It turned out lovely and she looks so joyful! What a treat…date with dad and dress by mom.
What a beautiful daughter you have. You should be very proud!
The dress is gorgeous! Perfect color on Talitha!
Thank you for loaning your husband to T4G. Matt and I were so blessed by his prayer over us. We are grateful for you!
good job!
They look so cute!!! We had similar pictures at our house! It was our first year attending, and looking forward to the new tradition! Research shows that one of the main preventative factors for keeping teenage girls out of “trouble”, is their relationship with their father. I am thankful for an event that helps to encourage this relationship.
