Cairo’s sweet welcome
We stopped at the coffee shop of our hotel to buy Coke Light, but Sprite Light was the only diet drink they had. So we asked for 2 of those.
The young woman helper asked me, “Why light?”
I said, “Because I don’t want so much sugar.”
Without a pause, she said, “But Madam, you are so beautiful!”
Reminds me of my friend Noel’s welcome to me in Cameroon last year.

While in Cairo, you must stop at one of the Koshery stands, where the locals eat. It is one of my favorite dishes there and you can eat for about $.50. At least it was like that in July 2006. I told our friends in Heliopolis to try and be there Sunday evening!
I remember that! Course I was just a skinny 16yo who they were trying to fatten up. Man, I definitely need to go back to Cairo now just for the ego boost.
The food in Egypt was incredible.
I’m really enjoying your updates.
Noel, I’m sure you’re interested in health and wellbeing. I suggest you do some looking into the artificial sweetener used in ‘Coke light’ and other products, Aspartame. Not only does it actually CAUSE weight gain but also has detrimental effects on the body and brain. I recommend trying out some freshly squeezed juices as an alternative, organic carrot & apple juice with some kale is a great start that will have you feeling great. For your health and longevity in Jesus,
Daniel
