There is a ministry based in northern WA, Starfish Ministries (http://starfishministries.org/) that serves children in Haiti, guided by local pastors. Anyway, their mission is to raise up children to love and serve Jesus Christ and CHANGE HAITI for the Lord Jesus. I have been blessed to spend two wonderful weeks in Haiti with Starfish, and oh boy I have to tell you that I have seen God's powerful hand moving in the children's minds and hearts (seeing my best buddy from the orphanage mature profoundly over the year I was away was INCREDIBLE!!) I could go on and on about stories of God's grace and wrath and beauty in Haiti--and happily will if requested--but to anyone with children and adoption on their hearts, be encouraged that God may lead you to bring a child home, or He may design that they stay in their country to be His frontline warriors & witnesses in the rebuilding process.
